Audio files support in Buzzeasy
Buzzeasy offers administrators and flow designers to upload prerecorded audio files to various configuration objects, like announcement bundles, queue treatments and various voice workflow nodes.
File format requirements
Audio files can be uploaded in WAV or MP3 formats (some tenants might not have access to both of these). No other file formats are accepted.
The workflow nodes, queue treatment and announcement bundle configurations will actively reject unacceptable/unknown files.
Encoding suggestion
Ideally, all audio files uploaded should have these encoding properties:
mono
8 kHz / 8000Hz bit rate
16 bit
You might not have the option to achieve this for MP3, in that case upload the files in the encodings you prefer. Buzzeasy will re-encode them, see below.
Auto re-encoding upon upload
To avoid audio glitches and to provide fast playback experience, Buzzeasy re-encodes all uploaded audio files to the encoding format specified in this document.
This re-encoding process is not real-time. You might need to wait a few minutes to have the files in the format Buzzeasy can work with.
Perceived audio quality
The specifications described in this document guarantee that audio files can be played for most/all customer voice connectivity scenarios without perceivable loss of quality.
Note that uploading an audio file with higher quality encodings will result in Buzzeasy re-encoding it. As this is an automated process, there is no way to apply individual encoding configuration for each of our customers. You are generally better off encoding your files to the specification described here as you can test and confirm the quality before uploading.
Note
Even if the audio quality of the files you upload sounds acceptable in the Buzzeasy Portal, audio artifacts could surface in random calls. This generally depends on the technical specifics of those calls, but if happening frequently, please report to our Support teams.
